Ellanthakunta is a Village located in Jammikunta Mandal of Karimnagar District in the state of Andhra Pradesh,It is 143 km far from its State Main City Hyderabad.
Reportedly the village appears to have received its name because of the existence of a Kunta (tank) beside the temple with two big trees locally called Illendu trees. The Kunta with Illendu trees was called Illendukunta now known as Illenthakunta (Iluvenda Kunta). Illuvenda is a kind of tree. Agriculture is the main occupation of people living in Ellanthakunta , some of the crops grown in this region include Rice, Cotton, Chilis etc ,Other occupation in Ellanthakunta includes the priests, carpenters, blacksmiths, barbers, weavers, potters, oil pressers, leatherworkers, sweepers, water bearers, toddy-tappers and many others.
The common traditional clothing for women is a Saree, Salwar and for men is Dhothi, Lungi and Pancha . Telugu is the main language in Ellanthakunta used for communicating in the Village .Ellanthakunta is known for its natural liveliness with greenary and peace all around,The lifestyle of the villagers shows our culture, traditions and brotherhood among them.
